Gua Sha: The Benefits and Techniques for a Glowing Complexion

If you're looking for a natural, non-invasive way to improve your skin texture, then incorporating a Gua Sha into your skincare routine may be just what you need. Gua Sha is an ancient Chinese technique that involves gently gliding a smooth, flat tool across the skin to promote lymphatic drainage, increase blood flow, and release muscle tension. Our Gua Sha is made of white jade and pairs perfectly with our Drop-by-Drop Serums to incorporate into your skincare routine.

Here are some ways that Gua Sha can benefit your skin texture

Increases circulation: By stimulating blood flow to the skin, Gua Sha can help deliver oxygen and nutrients to the skin cells, which can help improve their texture and overall health.

Reduces puffiness: Gua Sha can help reduce puffiness and swelling in the face by promoting lymphatic drainage, which can help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Releases muscle tension: The gentle pressure of the Gua Sha tool can help release muscle tension in the face, which can help improve the appearance of sagging or drooping skin.

Improves product absorption: Using a Gua Sha after applying your skincare products can help improve their absorption into the skin, which can enhance their effectiveness and improve your skin texture over time.

How to use

After cleansing skin, apply your favorite Rena Roots serum to your face and neck. The serum should not be completely absorbed into your skin so that it can help the Gua Sha glide easily across your face and neck.

With gentle pressure, move the Gua Sha in upward lifting motions as depicted in the diagram below in the following order: forehead, eyebrow area, cheeks, chin and neck.

Follow with application of your preferred moisturizer and sunscreen during the day.

Your Gua Sha may be used daily, and for best results we recommend using at least 2-3 times a week.

Note: You may experience redness after using the Gua Sha, this is normal and due to the increased blood flow brought to the area of the skin where you’ve used the Gua Sha.

Incorporating a Gua Sha into your skincare routine is a simple and effective way to improve your skin texture and promote a healthy, glowing complexion. Try it out for yourself and see the difference it can make!
